Committees
Volunteer opportunities
are available with the GSLA committees! If you are interested in
getting involved with the south loop community, you have the opportunity
to join one or more of our exciting committees.
Business Relations
Committed to developing a mutually beneficial alliance with local
retailers, which will promote the cultural, spiritual and physical
needs of our growing residential community. Responsible for encouraging
an ongoing dialog between the GSLA and the retail organizations
conducting business in the Near South neighborhood.
The Business Relations committee is headed by Dennis
Beninato.
Community Enhancement
Educates members on the history and preservation of the Near South
neighborhood. Annual event highlighting architecture, events or
buildings of historical importance to the community.
The Beautification Committee is headed by Jeff
Key.
Real Estate
To provide the processes and structure for GSLA to have a strong
voice in the development of the South Loop community as a desirable
place to live through active interface with Developers, the City
of Chicago, and elected officials.
The Developer checklist is a tool developed by the Real Estate and
Development Committee to facilitate early communication with Development
Teams on the criteria the committee will use in evaluating proposed
projects for GSLA support.
The Real Estate Committee is headed by Steve
Ward.
Resident Relations
Charged with promoting sociability and recreation among its members
through the planning of GSLA sponsored events. Facilitating events
in partnership with GSLA member buildings and communicating information
about various events of interest to GSLA members and their neighbors.
The Social Committee is headed by Monica
Sund.
